Hi, I am running Logic 8.0.2 on a Mbpro 2.0ghz, 2g ram. still on Tiger
I really like the new logic, but been having some weird problems. Hope somebody can shed some light on them. I searched different forums and read through the manual to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!
1. For one of my Projects, the SMTP time code in the marquee stripe doesn't match up to the bar count. Normally, when you start a new project, SMTP code 1:00:00:00 should match up to 1 1 1 1. However, for this particular project, 1 1 1 1 is matchedup to 00:58:... something. I tried to move the start box, but it would only move to the left and not right. I tried to display only the SMTP code, and move the start box that way. No luck. Does anybody know how I can match them up again?
2. Does anybody know how to turn off the option where when you move the playhead using the mouse, then follow option automatically turns on? even though it was off before. I know the key command for turning Follow off, but it's just annoying when I am skipping around in the project, I have to turn off Follow everytime I move the playhead.
3. This is really several problems in one, but they are all related to moving the project to a different directory.
I have all of the copy asset options set in Project settings, however, when I simply copy the project folder to another drive via Finder, the project still references audio files, Battery kits that were in the original folder. An example would be, the project originally resides in my external drive. I copied it to my desktop, unplugs the external drive, open up project, Logic complains it can't find several of the audio files. I tried to consolidate and etc after plugging my external hd back in, but then it complains about certain audio file already exists. I eventually fixed the problem by going into the Audio Bin, and find the audio files that were still referencing the original folders, and do a "move files." I know this is not good, because it literately moves the audio file out of the original folder. I tried "copy files" and still get the files already exist error. It seems like the references for those files weren't updated or set correctly, to use relative path instead of absolute path.
4. This is related to question 3. Does anybody here use native instruments' battery with logic? How do you save your kits? I tried monolith, since I thought it will be neater that way, but after I move the project, Logic would complain that it cannot find the sample files inside of the monolith. And if I tried to "locate" it for Logic, it would not let me just select the monolithic kit file. I assume it was looking for a wave file and not a kt3 file. Anybody every have a similar experience?
Thank you very much.
