  1. Thats a known issue with the 01x, not logic. Its continously sending junk midi sysex information on Port 4. The only way to fix this is by downloading an application called 'MidiPipe' and hijacking that port on the 01X. Port 4 is only used by the Yamaha Studio Manager. There is a similar fix to stop Logic recording the sysex information by attaching a cable switcher to port 4 in the environment window and turning it off. This didnt help me with the controller learn problem though, so you are best to hijack the port with Midipipe. Heres a post about it on 01Xray.com http://www.01xray.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=7&Board=01X_Logic&Number=441091&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#Post441142
  2. Hi There. Just wondering is there a way in logic to crossfade between tracks on the fly? Like a dj's mixer crossfader where you have two sequences on separate tracks and chop between them using a fader.
  3. Hi Guys. Having a little spot of bother getting my Midi setup correct. Any Help appreciated. I have an AN1X synth & a Virus C (rack version) both connected into logic & receiving midi back from the sequencer on separate MIDI ports. The AN1X also serves as my master controller keyboard. I created two new external instrument channels and have each device receiving on their separate midi ports. At the moment I can record and playback MIDI for both my devices using the AN1Xs keyboard. My problem is this. If i record some notes from the AN1X on its midi track, It plays the AN1x fine, but once I select the Virus's midi track.. the sequence of notes playing on the AN1X midi track plays the Virus too. Obviously the midi that the AN1X is recieving is getting sent back out of the AN1X into Logic and triggering the virus. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Ideally i want be able to play the Virus via my AN1X keyboard, and yet be able to sequence both the Virus & AN1X in Logic without them getting confused.
  4. Thanks to both Fader8 & ShiverMeTimbers, i think im on the right track now... I really appreciate it. 8)
  5. I know about the learn function. But I only have 6 faders & 8 knobs. Surely using the environment is the only way to go if you want to controll a large number of controls with a limited amount of physical controls. For example if I use learn and assign a fader to something in ultrabeat what happens when i switch to another ES1 track and want to use that fader for the ES1 or something? I just want to spend my time making music not re-assigning controllers every 2 mins for every instrument.
  6. Thanks Fader8. I take its not a problem with other instruments then? "Hypersets" is a new word for me. Im going to have a trawl through previous posts to see if it can shed more light on what i want to achieve with my MPD24 & Ultrabeat. MPD has only 6 faders & 8 knobs but I want to be able to control a hell of a lot more than that.
  7. I want both. I might create 1 fader with a cable switch that controlls several parameters in the environment window and then assign this to one fader on the MPD24 for example.
  8. Hi Guys Logic Noob. Started using the environment last night and came across two things that I cant figure out. (1) I connected a monitor object to the output of an Ultrabeat track and tweaked the volume of the snare. The monitor object returned that the snare volume was set to Channel 2 CC 21 so I assigned my fader to controll it using a transformer . Hey presto it wouldnt work.. so I tweaked the volume of the snare to reconfirm and to my surprise CC number controlling the volume had changed to 22. I changed the transformer again to reflect this and the snare volume CC changed back again. agggh. Its as if the Ultrabeat dynamically assigns CCs internally or something. I cant get an environment fader to controll anything in Ultrabeat. NB. I can get this working fine with channel EQ for the instrument, I am able to control anything with my faders but i cant controll anything in Ultrabeat. Ultimately I want to have 24 faders controlling decay/volumne etc of each of my drums hits in Ultrabeat. (2) When I create a fader in the environment window how do get my MPD24s fader to control it? Any help appreciated. Take it easy. Steve.
