  1. Where is the 'LIKE' button? - AGREE !
  2. Nope ... sorry . I am not please with the new minimalist interface. Zero contrast.. It's ... B O R I N G. It's hard to read. I was so pleased with the last design. My opinion. My vote. Your's does not matter.
  3. Heh ..... And to think that I started out with a Macintosh SE ... on 9" monochrome monitor ... working with Russ Shirley who was tinkering with Tom Scholz and playing with 'The Turtles' and 'Meatloaf'. Ya ... I'm old. Hence the need for LARGER. Thank you David. I'll continue my research and post my findings. Much respect.
  4. I am researching large displays to for our studio. Currently we are using two 27" screens (iMacs and a couple of iPads. Even with that much screen real estate , I always have the need for 'more room'. Were not dealing with high details in a DAW.... but the text and objects still need clarity. Photo editing nor gaming is not part of this equation. 48" or higher .... possibly? Any 'recent' experience / suggestions with today's display technology is welcome. Thanks.
  5. Use the full text Editor here. There is an 'Attachments' tab below the area where you enter text. It's easy, once you see it.
  6. [Lightbulb} Maybe it is that I have the Finder prefs set to 'dark theme'. I'll restart tomorrow ands see that is it. Thank you for your ideas.
  7. Drum Machine Designer . So much work went into this to make is so simple - MultiOuts, Aux's, Bus's - Drum swap. Drag&Drop user samples . It's brilliant. The Environment (THIS is THE MIDI playground ) Set & follow Groove Track !! Track stacks It's big deal with Smart Controls using a MIDI controller. The new UI - Logic Pro X .... Something kicked in with the overhaul and my workflow was cut in half while my creativity doubled. That it has the LogicProHelp community supporting it (Apple just need to make it a menu item) It just works
  8. Eric .... your 'tip' is going to save me a lot of work. It's more than just with the 'saving the AUX in the patch trick. With a patch like this, my MIDI controller (Panorama P1) sees everything correctly. No setup or custom configurations are needed ... because the Instrument has the focus .... and the SENDs are subordinates of the instrument that are displayed on my MIDI controller's LCD exactly as they should. When the patch has the AUX at the top of the hierarchy .... I could not 'get to' the instrument easily via the MIDI controller. Thanks again, Eric. You're always great help here on LPH
  9. This is great. I was a little confused with the last step ..... but a lightbulb clicked on and I got it.
  10. A little helper/tip we use. Ever try to locate that one logic project that had that certain something something ... but you don't remember what it was titled ? From within Logic*, Select Open .... and highlight a logic project file. Hit the Space Bar to see a 'Quick View' of that file. Sometimes just the layout can spark a memory ... or better yet .... Use Logic's Note Pad and enter descriptions , comments or diary ramblings. All of the text is legible in 'Quick View'. *Quick View' use to work at the finder level. But something got broken in OSX 10.12 and it shows other same image for all files. You can, however, also view the XML image in the Finder's Cover Flow view. But the image is smaller. Quick View
  11. Was working flawlessly on El Capitan. No issues with Logic All latest version of OSX , Logic and the last driver update from Roland .... which was 2007 I believe. Deactivate the "Advanced Driver on PCR-500" ? < I don't know what you are referring to. Turning off OSX Sierra's S.I.P. did not solve anything.
  12. is it possible to just use the PCR as a generic MIDI controller that does not require a Roland/Edirol driver?
  13. The PCR drivers/configuration were installed 2 years ago. I can see the PCR 'driver' in Audio MIDi setup . But can not set it to 'Online' . Greyed out. I'll disable SIP just to see if it works..... maybe there's a way to keep it working even after re-engaging SIP. Thank you sir for your reply.
  14. Besides disabling S.I.P. in OS X Sierra, is there any workaround to get my an old Edirol PCR 500 keyboard connected with Logic Pro X? It's has been a trusty old unit that sits off on the side , but is used when we need an extra knob or slider control. Plus ....it has aftertouch (sort of) . It worked flawlessly with all the bells and whistles until Sierra and was even included in the auto mapping configs that came along in LPX 10.2.4 We have other keyboards ..... but this one has sentimental value. We're ... clingy.
  15. Today I had to reset LPX prefs. I had some issues and a pref reset fixed all the trouble (info that I got on this site btw. thx) But I now noticed that the text above my library header is black .... when it suppose to be 'Creamy Vanilla Eggshell' (That's what Apple would call 'White' .... pretty sure). Chime-in if you have a fix. Ta.
  16. Related note: You don't need to open the Track Icon picker to add an icon to a track. Simply drag any image file onto the track header. Voila!
  17. Drum Machine Designer 'factory' Icons (Previously unavailable) Also Includes icons from N.I. Drum Synth DMD Icons.zip
  18. Mcmaklin, did you ever get this working? I am also stumped.
  19. Thanks Eric. I will give it another go. I'm guessing that out of the numerous Mackie controller setups included with Logic, that the Mackie C4 is a proper choice. It seems to be tailored more for plugin controls . I guess .... a lot.
  20. bit ... I'm still stumped. Logic is not sending/updating data to the iPad Lemur . I'm determined to solve this. I've put too many hours in to let this go unresolved.
  21. Really ? You got Bidirectional communication between Logic and Lemur? I've been stumbling with this for days now. I was lost in trying IAC routing and Mackie controller ideas. I'll try this. Thank you very much! FWIW : OP was asking about a good surface controller for Logic. I use the Nektar Panorama P1. It is exceptional. They have TIGHLY integrated it with Logic (10.1 or greater) No silly AutoMap or VST wrappers. Seemless.
  22. No replies [sigh]. Day 4 of trying to figure this out ..... with no luck. All I need is to have Lemur get/update the status of the Lemur controller items that are on the template , if any changes have been made to any of Zebra's parameters (LFOs, FILTERs , ENVELOPEs ..... ) from Logic Pro. D
  23. I've been designing layouts for Lemur for a few months. I've nailed down using the iPad to talk to Logic plugins. That's easy. BUT .... I am stuck at getting a plugin in Logic to talk to Lemur. Currently I am working on a Zebra layout for Lemur. What needs to be done for Lemur to see a change made or a status in Zebra, running in Logic Pro X? Is this a MCU (Mackey) thing? Or .... Osculator ? (I'm not going to go the Osculator route. Too many pieces to fail) I have the Lemur Deamon setup for both directions properly ... pretty sure. I've looked through Liine's user forum. No luck. Read the manual. Inside and out. Still lost. Twisted Tools has a quite remarkable Lemur template for 'Ultraloop' that is bidirectional .... but I can not, for the life of me, figure out how the host (Reaktor) is sending data to it. If someone could offer a hint ..... anything. I'm usually good at figuring things out and getting up to speed .... if I could just get the pump primed. My pump has dried out. Thank you.
