Hey, Thanks for your response- in telling you 150% sure I wasn't!! I only learnt the shortcut for auto punch yesterday out of necessity!! I've had 100's of clients in and never used it. It's truly bizarre as other sites have said the same as yourself!! I actually think it may have been a "good bug" as it only happened after my upgrade to mountain lion that it stopped- oh well auto punch it is!! BTW thr is a feature that should absolutely be in there then!?!

Hi Everyone, Just a quick issue I seem to be having with Logic, Background Ive been using logic for about 4 years, use it professionally and for personal use I have alot of experience with the DAW and feel that this is not a knowledge issue (I hope ) issue I have always had a setup where by if I record a guitar track and am not happy with the take from a certain point I could drop the the marker where i wanted to record, hear a count in of one (or more bars on preference) and play. The thing is I could HEAR THE AUDIO ON THE TRACK BEFORE it started to record on the point where I chose. now for some unexplainable reason I need to use the autopunch feature. Now I am well aware of that feature and dont mind if I HAVE to use it but its frustrating that it just stopped working- whats worse is that people were saying on the apple support site that it never was a feature and that Autopunch was always necessary. can you guys please tell me if I was always working with a bug or if there is a way to fix this so that autopunch is not required and a simple click of record will let me hear the playback before recording.
