  1. Thank you Ski! It is very helpful, and I also figured out the way! I have another question(Very amateurish) regarding percussion stems and loops, If suppose I have a killer loop, a great brass/drums(stereo loop containing all the elements)/percussion(Bongo, congo, tabla etc) recording sample loop which is in stereo(there are noticeable differences in articulations in left and right speaker), in which format would I give it to the 5.1 mix engineer for panning and placement in the mix?? Can I just give the stereo track to him or do I in any way need to make Mono tracks and give him? I can obviously get a midi replacement for the drums and separate out the channels, but for the other stereo stuff I am still in a fix. Also in modern movie scoring techniques, is the concept of reels still used? as in do people still require the digital video to be cut into 20 minute sections and the scoring be done according to that? Thanks a lot! Neel
  2. Hi All, I am new to logic, and film scoring. But for a project that I recently scored, I would like to find out the tempo of the scene and sync specific bars of the movie to specific SMPTE values? For example if I want the end of 9th bar to a frame according to SMPTE(1:00:05;24.23) is there any way for me to achieve that? There is a similar feature in Pro Tools. If not then is there a way for me to find out the Tempo of the specified region according to the time it takes with respect to frames?? I have tried the Lynda tutorials but they do not contain anything regarding this information. Thanks a lot Neelesh
  3. It Worked!!! Eureka!! Thanks a lot David! :D Also I was trying out to edit the Modulation section of the Indian Bansuri melody line, I noticed that the same changes are being recorded in the pan section of the hyper editor... is there some way to de-link them?? I want to use the different layers of the flute for articulations... thanks
  4. Hi David... Sorry to be completely Ignorant of the Event List... I tried to do the step you mentioned above but I got an error saying... Logic is not able to create an event in Folder... So Dont know what that means, can you please elaborate on your instructions? Also I was trying out to edit the Modulation section of the Indian Bansuri melody line, I noticed that the same changes are being recorded in the pan section of the hyper editor... is there some way to de-link them?? Thanks for your help! regards
  5. Hi All, I have made a melody line in one of my comps using Indian Bansuri Flute patch (Exs24). I was trying to edit the Modulation of the recording using the Hyper Editor and the Pencil tool. I noticed that all the changes I am making to the Modulation is also affecting the Panning section( data is getting mirrored) which is causing unwanted pans of the main melody line. Hence I erased the data(eraser tool), but now I notice that at a point in time the melody is getting panned hard left(no panning data in hyper editor, no automation of pan). Please Help Thanks Neelesh
  6. Hi All, I was wondering if I might be able to change the expression(Velocity, Vibrato) in a sustained note in any of the strings or orchestral samples in Exs24, for example we play one note for a length of a bar and change(Increase or decrease) the velocity in the middle and get it back up again(Noticeable change in colour in the MIDI note.)I saw that feature in Vienna Symphonic Library. I tried to do it with the Hyper editor but noticed no change in the Note expression during the Sustain. I noticed that velocity only changes when there is a change made at the Start of the note and sticks to that particular Velocity(Tried it on a flute patch). Am I doing something wrong or is this feature yet to be included in exs24? Thanks a bunch Neelesh
  7. Thanks all!!! Thanks Mark!! I just used the hyperdraw to automate the Modulation!!! It changed the feel of the piece completely!!! I still have to try out the pitch wheel playing... or maybe will automate that as well from Hyperdraw!!
  8. Hi, I am new into logic pro, was trying to emulate an Indian flute using the EXS24 Indian Bansuri flute patch. I am trying to achieve sliding or gliding type of effect for a melody line to be able to change from one note to another continuously without jumping, I am basically trying to emulate the Indian style of playing a flute. Can anyone please help me out in this aspect? Is there anyway for me to change tempo(maybe sync it to my projects current tempo) and level of the very prominent Vibrato that is present in the samples? Thanks a lot Neel
