  1. BINGO ... got it fixed. Thanks to both of you for your assistance. Much appreciated. I was not doing the "Toggle Vertical (and Horizontal) Auto Zoom". That was my main problem. So I made a shortcut for each one. I then created a one key macro using "Keyboard Maestro" (great app) to do both those shortcuts at once. I use this feature all the time to get the entire timeline and all tracks showing on the arrange page instantly. I did the same in ProFools. For my workflow, this a required attribute. I am surprised in a way that this is not built in to LPX?
  2. Found the Key Commands but neither of those two options are working for me manually? The screen just flashes in both cases.
  3. I am having a problem with a couple keyboard shortcuts ... Auto Zoom both Horizontal and Vertical. I used to be able to key command them with Z for Vertical and X for Horizontal but .... they are NOT working now? I can't find their shortcuts listed anywhere in the documentation?? I am wondering if it might be an OS and/or hardware problem since I have recently upgraded both Catalina to Big Sur and iMac i5 to Mac Mini M1 ?? This is driving me nuts as I use those two zoom settings all the time. LPX 10.6.3 Mac Mini M1 (2020) OS 11.6
  4. That's awesome, works perfectly ... thanks so much David.
  5. Sorry .... having trouble figuring this out .... how do you remove or hide lyrics in the score editor? This is a midi track and it came with lyrics already in the Score.
  6. Yup thanks ... got HS/10.4.8 figured out, but for example, what would be the last for Sierra, El Cap, & Yosemite etc.? I have some friends that are stuck at various lower OSX's so just wanted to tell them what LPX they will be capped at.
  7. Is there a list or spreadsheet somewhere that details historical LPX versions (past & present) and their OS(x) requirement?? I know 10.5 requires OS 10.14 or 10.15 but what would be the last LPX version compatible with High Sierra (10.13.6) for example. Did a little researching but couldn't seem to find a nice compatibility list.
  8. Thanks so much for the replies ... 1) How to "enable it" ?? 2) Does this work in the Main Window (Tracks Page)? I usually make many volume adjustments there as I spend 95% of my time in that environment but I don't see that option from the Edit Menu? I understand now that I can undo a volume adjustment in the Main Window by "X'ing" in the Mixer Pane to undo it (under the Edit Menu). Is there a way to enable a key command to undo a track's the volume move directly in the Main Window? Hope I am using the right terms here?
  9. Is there still no Fader Undo in LPX 10.4.8 ??? ... you know ... doing a mix, move something, then want to go back to where you were before the move ..... Z kind of thing. Am I missing something, preferences perhaps?? If not, how do you work around this??
  10. robinloops .... thanks. Yes I needed a multitrack version of the LPX project in Garageband format Mac OS .... bouncing of the individual LPX tracks as audio files and then importing them into GB worked perfectly.
  11. My solution so far was to bounce the tracks in LPX to audio files and import them into GB.
  12. First I apologize for possibly not doing my home work on this ..... 1) I exported a LPX project for Garageband iOS however it will not load into Garageband OS. 2) So how do you get a LPX project to GB OSX??? Do you have to export all the tracks out of LPX to audio files then import the audio files into GB ???
  13. Thanks again. Part of this would be so much easier if the download time wasn't so long from Apple and if I had faster internet speed. I have lpx on all the computers I need it on now so the downloading is done but as I was waiting for literally hours for the latest sound library download to happen, I was thinking "there must be an easier way". Another question if I may .... if you relocate the sound library to an external drive does it remove said sound library from the original location??? If I had the library on an external drive, could Mac B also use (or link to) it? ... or ... is each install of LPX liked to its own personal sound library whether on the internal drive or external drive and other installs of LPX must have their own library.
  14. Thanks very much for the details ... appreciated.
  15. Quick question about LPX install. Regarding 10.4.2 in this example .... using a Mac (Mojave). To save the pain of downloading all the sound samples from Apple during a new install ..... if I have one complete LPX setup on Computer A, could I just copy the App to Computer B and also the entire "Logic Folder" located in the System Library/Application Support/ Logic (containing all samples and instruments etc) also to Computer B (putting it in the proper directory) ...... would this work ???? ..... or is there another way to do it. At my location, having to download all the samples from Apple each time takes hours.
  16. Thanks for your reply David ... Appreciated. After some more investigation I think I now understand why things are happening the way I described? It is due to how Producer kits are made with their extended processing on the individual break out tracks. That's why a kick sample from one Producer kit when imported into another Producer kit won't sound the same as it did in the source kit. I did manage to get an imported kick sample to sound "relatively close" to the source kit in the destination kit but it involved jumping through a bunch of hoops. I can elaborate if anyone asks? Just didn't want to get too long winded in this reply.
  17. Sorry in advance for the long winded post but it is the only way for me to explain my question. I am trying to wrap my head around Drum Kit Designer and making custom kits (mixing and matching) using the samples in LPX My example to explain .... Comparing two “Producer Kits” called Hi-Fi Pop and Studio R&B Comparing the Kicks only. Created two drummer tracks for comparison, same drummer on each. Put Hi-Fi Pop on Track 1 and Studio R&B on Track 2 Soloed track 1 (Hi-Fi Pop), opened the Drum Kit Designer window by clicking on drum kit in the library window top left hand side on the screen, then clicked on the kick drum which then opened what I would call the kick editor window. There were 13 kicks in the left hand column (titled Kicks) and “Pawn Shop Loose” was selected with the following settings on the right hand column under the title “Edit” Tune: +100% Dampen: 90% Gain: 0 Leak: ON Overheads: OFF Room: ON B I noticed the moment I selected another kick in the left hand column the Edit Column went to neutral and when I came back to the original kick the Edit column was still neutral so the kick now sounded totally different. When I manually re-set the Edit column parameters on the Pawn Shop Loose kick, the sound returned to the same as it originally was. Lesson learned, pay attention to what they are doing in the edit column on the original kick if you start selecting other kicks and want t come back to the original. Now here is the issue ….. Moving to Track 2 where I have the exact same drummer and the Studio R&B kit selected. I do everything the same as Track 1 described above to get to the kick being used (same 13 kicks in left hand column). The kick used for this drum kit is (of course) different. It is the “Sixties Felt Kit” with the following settings in the right hand “Edit Column” Tune: 0 Dampen 0 Gain: 0 Leak: ON Overheads: OFF Room ON B I switched around a few kicks and when I came back to the original kick it still sounded the same (unlike the HI-Fi Pop kick which had edit parameters applied that were lost when kicks were swapped around) I decided to try the Pawn Shop Loose Kick that was used in the Hi-Fi Kit. I changed the Edit Column settings from Flat to the same settings used in the Hi-Fi Kit but ….. THE KICK SOUNDED TOTALLY DIFFERENT in the R&B kit with the same settings as the Hi-Fi Kit. WHY IS THAT ???? I also copied the “channel settings” from Track 1 and pasted them on to Track 2 but still the kick sounded different. I am trying to get the exact same sound on the Pawn Shop Loose kick when used in the R&B Kit as I get with it on the Hi-Fi Kit but can’t seem to do it, even with all the same kick settings and channel settings. What am I missing here?? Overall …. I am trying to create a “Custom Kit” with a combination of various elements from different kits but …. as explained above, this are not translating equally. The samples seem to sound different when they are swapped into different kits.
  18. Mine seems to work quite fine. No issues. Haven't tweeked anything in Safari. OS 10.13 Safari Version 11.0 (13604.1.38.1.6)
  19. Thanks Eric ... also ... I think I just figured it out? Simple copy & paste from one project into another. No "import" required. I opened both projects. Went to Project 2, selected all the markers plus the audio region C ... then went to Project 1, created a new audio track and selected it, put cursor at end of Song 1 and V .... boom, both audio region (Song 2) and all the coloured markers for Song 2 planted themselves right at the cursor location. Also, how do you select a group of markers all at once.
  20. Example ... 1) I have Project 1 with one track of a mix with markers. 2) I have Project 2 with one track of a mix with markers. I want to import Project 2 into Project 1 (I need to keep project 2's markers) and I want the imported Song 2 on a separate track to start at then end of Song 1 (say 3 minutes into the timeline for example with associated markers). I hope I have explained it clearly? I can't seem to figure out how to do this? When I import Project 2 into Project 1 the markers come in with the track but they wipe out the first song's markers ... and the import always starts at the beginning of the time line not in the timeline at the end of song 1. What am I missing? ... or is this even possible?
  21. Ah yes ... that works ........ thanks.
  22. I am probably missing something very simple here but ..... How do you (appropriately) change the key of a multi channel midi project?? What I do now is to select all the tracks minus drums, open piano roll editor, select all the midi notes and drag them collectively to the desired key. Although this works, I am sure there is a more eloquent way to do it?? To clarify ... I need to change the key of all the tracks minus drums LPX 10.3.1
  23. Just figured out how to reverse the colours (to white background black bar lines) in LPX Preferences - Displays - click on "bright background". Better for me but still wish bar/beat lines were a bit bolder and wider for more easy viewing or the display parameters more configurable (which I doubt can be done?).
