Editing aliases - original not located

Hi.

I've had this going on for so long now, I can't remember when it started but I think it may have been when I went to Logic X from 9.

I have made a short vid to show the problem.

Double click an alias, choose "edit original" and then find that Logic does not open the original.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

So - 10.4 is out with new stuff and some fixes - for which I'm grateful of course. However, such every day fundamentals as the one in this thread still remain broken. I've written to Apple a few times.

"You can also double-click an alias to open a dialog that asks whether you want to create and edit a real copy, or edit the original.

If you double-click an alias to edit it, Logic Pro assumes that you either want to edit the original, or turn the alias into a real region. You are asked whether you want to create and edit a real copy, or to edit the original."

This quote is from this page:

This does not work, as described above - the original is not shown as available for editing, and hasn't for years.

Groan groan.
