Editing aliases - original not located

Hi.

 

I've had this going on for so long now, I can't remember when it started but I think it may have been when I went to Logic X from 9.

 

I have made a short vid to show the problem.

 

Double click an alias, choose "edit original" and then find that Logic does not open the original.

 

Any help appreciated!

Hello. I'm just wondering if this post is not really chiming with anyone - too boring? hahaha. Has no-one else got this going on? I'd love to know if it's only on my system, or if I'm being really dumb here with this one? Thanks!

I can confirm this.

Choose Functions > Region Alias > Select Original Region, or create a key command for Find Original of Alias.

I'll look at that. I was aware of the "find original" command as a separate operation but am I right that in L9 the "edit original" option did in fact show the original region in the piano roll?

OK - thanks for the workaround tip - I've made a KC for "select original region" - I'll go with that for the time being and submit feedback to Apple and pray for a fix!

So - 10.4 is out with new stuff and some fixes - for which I'm grateful of course. However, such every day fundamentals as the one in this thread still remain broken. I've written to Apple a few times.

This does not work, as described above - the original is not shown as available for editing, and hasn't for years.
