philipevans
I have recently performed a cleanup with 'Mackeeper' which I believe may have coincided with some unusual behavior from Logic, namely the inconsistent response to inputs from either my '01X' or 'Tranzport'. Is it possible that some cashe files which Mackeeper decided were unimportant are crucial to the opearation of Logic and subsequent drivers for each device? After running Apple's Disk Utility the result was that the disk needs repair, not good! I have also installed and uninstalled the Automap software several times in an effort to rectify the problem and am now at a bit of a loss as to which steps to take next to get my studio back into working order! If anyone can offer any help it would be much appreciated! Thanks
n6smith
MacKeeper is a waste of time and as you have found out, tends to do more harm than good.... Better to uninstall it and then restore from your backups (which hopefully you have stored away either via Time Machine or a Clone copy?) For an typical thread about MacKeeper and it's issues, see..... http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1152791 As the Disk Util now says you have issues with the HD... you will probably need to reformat the HD (Depending on the what the issue with your HD is...Could DU repair the problem?) and again restore from your backups... philipevans
Thanks very much for the advice, I really appreciate it. Further to this I let 'mackeeper' put the Antivirus software in the menu bar! How do I go about uninstalling 'mackeeper' and all of its associated files (or any unwanted programs for that matter)? triplets
See when you install mackeeper if it has an uninstall option.
n6smith
You can try following these instructions... http://help.mackeeper.zeobit.com/Manual/GettingStarted/UninstallingMacKeeper.html ..though I must admit, they sound a little odd..... ..and to follow up, it seems like their own uninstaller doesn't actually fully uninstall (Unless they have updated their uninstaller recently) so here are more detailed instructions from another source that seem to work just fine... http://applehelpwriter.com/2011/09/21/how-to-uninstall-mackeeper-malware/ and also I suggest you may want to read the comments at the bottom of that page, for further tips... Good luck!
