Delete all MIDI volume from multiple regions [SOLVED]

I hooked up a crap midi controller, sequenced a whole song, then realized it was recording volume change date constantly in every region

 

how do i get it all out at once? from every region?

The Event list cannot show contents of multiple regions.

 

You can use a Transform window (Window > Transform Window). Program it like so to delete all volume automation:

 

David, my transform window does not have "delete volume events" like yours demonstrates lp9.1.5

That's just the name I gave to the transform set. Make your own transform set by setting the same Mode I'm using, same Status and Data Byte 1 settings. Name it the same, name it something else, or don't name it - it doesn't matter.

BTW there was a mistake in my original screenshot, the Transform Window's mode should be set to "Delete selected events". I have now updated it to reflect the correct setting.

How do I save this as a user created preset, so that I can use it again on future projects?

The Transform set is automatically saved with your project file. You can import Transform sets between project files using File > Project > Import Project Settings, selecting the source project, then selecting Transform sets.

 

If you import your transform sets to your template, then any project starting with that template will have those transform sets included.

This sets all volume events to 100. It doesn't actually delete them. I'm creating midi files in Finale, which adds a ton of volume events (several for each note). And while it is helpful to set them all to the same setting, I can still see all of these '100' volume controls in my Events window. How would I actually delete them, without having to manually select each one?

You must be doing something wrong Glenn, it should not set all volume events to 100, it should delete them. Check your settings, make sure the mode in the transform window is set to "Delete Selected Events", make sure you set the events to Control, Data Byte -1- = 7 (which corresponds to Volume MIDI events), and it will delete all your volume events - as it says.
