zmix
Interleaved vs split stereo? I opened an ".lso" project in LPX which was created in an old version of logic. It contained an "OH.L.wav" and an "OH.R.wav" files and when I dragged one of them into the arrange window they automatically turned into a "oo" linked stereo file, rather than converting to interleaved. "Great!" I thought, since it was so seamless...! However when I tried adding subsequent ".L" and ".R" files to this (or any) LPX project, a new interleaved stereo file was generated. This seems redundant considering how perfectly it handled the original files. How can I maintain the ".L" and ".R" files in LPX? In other words, it seems that LPX doesn't need to create an interleaved file to properly handle split stereo files. How do I stop Logic from creating interleaved files from split stereo files? This link says: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5804 “If you want the leave the stereo format as split, then any of the following import methods will work: Drag the audio file directly into the Tracks area from the Finder. Add the audio file to an Audio track in the Tracks area by clicking with the Pencil tool. Drag the audio file into the Project Audio window from the Finder. Drag the audio file into the Browsers > Project Audio tab from the Finder.” However, NONE of the methods described above worked for me.. ALL of them resulted in the creation of a new, interleaved ".wav" file..!! Even when using the "Interleaved to Split" option in the “copy/convert" menu, the newly split file is converted back to interleaved when automatically added to the Project audio window. Very frustrating…!!!
JJHP3
I believe the stereo / interleaved / mono file process is broken in LPX 10.6. Search the message board for more complete responses. zmix
Thanks, I've read a few threads but wanted to add my specific case. I have since verified that all of the split /interleaved functions operate perfectly in LP9.
