tusitala
Hi, I'm working on a project and somehow i cannot safely copy and paste notes from one region to another anymore... I've attached a picture of an example of what happens: Let's say I want to copy 4 simple Violin 1 notes that start at bar 27 and paste them at bar 29 of the Violins2 region... I put the playhead at bar 29, select the Violin2 region and hit "paste"...but Logic copies these notes 3 beats earlier...why? I tried this in the piano roll editor and the behaviour is exactly the same...tried with or without the "include non-note midi events" option ticked or unticked...same result... it doesn't happen in every project but tonight it happened in the one I'm working on, and i remember from some other thread that it might have something to do with some sort of hidden midi events, but I don't know how this happened and how to fix this! I hope you can help me as this totally blocked my work and I'm on a deadline all the best
Eric Cardenas
Two things to look for. MIDI events to the left of the region start. Project start point. Attach your project here with these two tracks and I'll take a quick peek at it.

Eric Cardenas
The Violin 1 region that starts at bar 23 has CC data two bars prior to the region start. Here's a version that works: Fixed region.zip
tusitala
thank you very much Eric for your support...but i'm still confused. I checked and that region has a modulation event set to 0 before the region starts...is this the hidden event you're referring to? So is this a confirmed bug? Is there any workaround to this? ...drawing modulation curves with my controller, it could quite often happen to have a few modulation or expression events drawn outside the regions...does this concerns only events hidden before the region or even after? all the best
Eric Cardenas
I checked and that region has a modulation event set to 0 before the region starts...is this the hidden event you're referring to? That's the one, at bar 21 if I recall correctly. So is this a confirmed bug? Remember to leave feedback to the Logic team. Apple - Logic Pro - Feedback Is there any workaround to this? Cut the region instead of dragging the left border. Hope that helps.
volovicg
Eric - again nice job! Confirmed here too! Is there some IQ super breakfast cereal you and SKI are taking this morning.. I want some of that!
Eric Cardenas
I could tell you but you know that than I'll have to kill you. I promised ski in blood to keep his secret formula. Yoke aside, this isn't actually new. It manifests itself in many ways due to how Logic used to handle the left border of a MIDI region prior the Logic Pro X. Eric Cardenas
I don't know how that event got made but it was probably not created by itself. You are the one that knows your workflow better than anyone. Try to see if you are able to reproduce this at a later point.
