Bouncer
Hey guys. I would like to move my sample library which is being referenced by EXS24, from one external drive to another external drive. I am wondering if EXS24 will still be able to use those same files after I move them to a new hard drive? thanks
Eric Cardenas
Yes. Make sure that spotlight indexes your new drive and you should be ok.
Bouncer
Hi Eric. I appreciate your reply. How do I make sure that spotlight indexes my new drive? What do I need to do? thanks
Eric Cardenas
Connect the disk. Open System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy. Add your external drive to the privacy list. Now delete the drive from the privacy list. You should see the little Spotligt magnifying glass gets a little pulsating dot.
Bouncer
Eric i did as you advised and the magnifying glass had a pulsating dot for a minute or so but now it doesnt have any dot pulsating anymore. Is that supposed to happen? I am copying the files to the new drive now and will test later

Bouncer
EXS instrument samples get recalled from new drive I reindex or not, but in case with the third party plug-in sample player Ozone iDrum, the moved file doesn't get recalled even after I reindex the drive. I thought this thread was about EXS and not iDrum?!!? Anyway... Make an Alias and drop it with the correct name (drop alias from the name.) on the spot where iDrum wants its samples.
