region length problems

This doesn't seem to be such an issue with midi regions, but is a constant bother with audio regions

Very often when I clip or otherwise change the length of an audio region (scissor tool, marquee tool, etc) the resulting clip length is off by just a hair. For example cutting a region in half which is 2 beats long might result in a region with a length of 1.0.0.0., with that last "." beaing just enough to throw things out of phase when looping or duplicating via cmd+R.

Is anyone else's Logic experience plagued by this??

needless to say, it's crazy annoying...

You're correct, 1 0 0 0. (dot) is longer than 1 0 0 0 (not dot). The dot indicate that the region is any number of samples longer than 1 0 0 0 but still shorter than 1 0 0 1. You can cut your region to exactly 1 0 0 0 with the marquee tool.
