  1. I use the macOS zooming feature (i set it to Ctrl+mouse wheel) which alleviate the aging/fainting of my eyesight...
  2. I never trusted ARA. The import/export approach works fine for me. I agree with that Melodyne has an odd way to deal with zooming and some of its navigation. However nodes featur5es are quite similar in both Logic and Melodyne. For me, Melodyne is way more efficient and straight forward than Logic Flex pitch/time. And is also multitimbral, while Logic will only work with dry monophonic audio material. The Melodyne Studio version is actually a DAW by itself.
  3. Here are the documented descriptions of how Logic would deal when drag-dropping audio file in the track area. Please let us know how it goes!
  4. Perhaps describing the routing of your system (with Logic’s Mixer screen captures) could help the troubleshooting… Describing your system specs (i.e. macOS, Logic, etc, precise versions) could also be useful. ("brand new" isn’t really meaningful…) How/where are you monitoring from (Mac’s earphones, Behringer interface, speakers, external mixer, etc)? What about your General Audio Logic’s Settings?
  5. As explained in the documentation, the point in time when a cell starts or stops is determined by the Quantize Start value. Keep in mind that those Quantize Start values could be set discretely for each cell, scene and grid. AFAIUI, they also interact with one another; which could make it confusing to keep track and eventually yield to unexpected behaviour…
  6. indeed, as mentioned in the Keyscape documentation, the Auto-Play would be the feature to disable: For the benefit of other users encountering your issue, please let us know if the above suggestion solves it.
  7. Thanx for sharing this tip! I found that artefacts could often be alleviated when (judiciously) splitting detected (by Logic’s flex pitched) notes… (as in Melodyne btw)
  8. Have you tried the suggestion in this (rather old) LPH topic?
  9. If possible, would you mind sharing the link?
  10. I personally never encountered issues by simply upgrading Logic (overwriting the current installation) over the multiple iterations. As you mentioned, it is imperative to keep a zip backup copy of the current installation, just on case… If things go awry, I would delete altogether the problematic (overwritten) installation and proceed with a clean one after proceeding with SMC & NV/PRAM resets and cold rebooting.
  11. Perhaps naive comment, but I would first aim at achieving a decent mix before going into mastering stage. IOW, avoid relying on the mastering stage to fix things. AFAIK, it’s pretty much impossible to realistically dictate/recommend specific figures to set levels without actually auditioning and being in front of the mixing console…
  12. Hmmm! Pretty quiet here… I wonder if that reflects the Logic’s iPad version interest?
  13. Ok, now I understand why your girlfriend was so furiously outraged about… 🙄
