  1. This might be a preferred workflow option for you: Drag and drop to create sampler instrument tracks https://support.apple.com/en-au/101863
  2. Is it any MP3 or a particular MP3 you're having trouble with? Can you convert the file to another format - either in Logic or prior to import in an external app....and does this fix the issue?
  3. Yes, per your image of the Track/Region editor - the gain can be selectively applied to part of the region with the marquee tool. This will split the region. You can destructively edit the audio FILE in the Audio FILE Editor. Choose an audio file from the file browser or region (that points to the underlying file) in the Arrange. Press CMD-6....or double-click the Arrange region, then switch from the Track/Region editor to the Audio (File) Editor by pressing the File button. Select the portion of the file you want to adjust with the Pointer tool. Choose Functions > Change Gain (or press Ctrl-G). In the Change Gain dialog, make your adjustments and press Change. You might see a warning dialog about Undo...depending on your app/project settings. As a suggestion....unless you know the audio file is not going to be used in another project - make a copy of the underlying file and work on this copy (or use the original and move the copy somewhere safe). In essence, if the file is reused in another project, the gain change(s) will be "baked in".
  4. Do you have two projects open at the same time? Don't do this!!!
  5. Away from IR use in SD discussed by @Atlas007....are you asking how to use the Amp sim/Amp Locker plug-in itself or the IR's?
  6. Not directly. You can copy data (project bundles only - AFAIK) via the Files app to/from the iPad internal storage. AirDrop/iCloud or directly connecting the Mac/iPad achieve the same result. iPadOS is locked down/sandboxed, so this limits what can be exchanged across platforms (at present). Hopefully this changes in future.
  7. Why not pack the unused stuff into a folder and drag it to the bottom of the track list, then rename the folder "For Later"?
  8. Time handles? https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/logicpro/lgcp4a739b4b/10.8/mac/13.5 You also have a number of other time stretching / manipulation options thru use of QuickSampler, Sample Alchemy, or audio FX (Remix FX, Multi FX, etc.)...if the MIDI part is a softsynth, external MIDI device, or printed to audio.
  9. Yes, it's possible the bypass automation is the cause of an audio glitch. If this is the case, is there an alternative plug-in that can be used? You could experiment by manually bypassing the plug at other playback positions/disabling the automation, etc. to see if it changes things.
  10. Ahhhh....OK....was wondering what happened in the video. Anything visible in the Mixer (with All active)?
  11. It can send data, but the faders send sysex, rather than MIDI CC data. Has your friend considered a straight 88-note controller keyboard? Arturia Keylabs, Roland A-series, Native Instruments KK, Akai MPK88, etc? In the 73/76 range, I can only think of the StudioLogic and Numa boards that have weighted actions. Most keyboards in this size are more home-oriented, so lack hammer action keybeds and/or front panel controls. Away from the new keyboard angle....is the idea of a controller that sits on top of the VR730 a viable consideration? There are lots of tiny controllers (fader/knob boxes...rather than mini keyboards - although these can also be a good option) that might provide the desired "knobby or fader control" features for MS. Korg Nano units, Novation Launch Control, etc. You could also use an iPad for this - but I'd imagine your friend would want something tactile/use by feel alone during live performance - rather than something they need to look at to use.
  12. Ask in /read thru the uber thread and also check out Dave's article:
