Loop Browser Filtering

Fri Mar 01, 2019 4:45 am

I am new to logic pro x and enjoying it a lot. When clicking on instrument, genre etc and the filter criteria beneath in the Loop Browser, the browser is not responding i.e. it is not filtering.

That's odd, I've never seen this issue. Could you click a few category buttons and post a screenshot here?

Not really, I can't explain that. I've never seen this myself. You could try rebuilding the index for your apple loops: click the Loop Packs pop-up menu and choose Reindex All Loops?

Woah, now they have all disappeared under the all genres heading? However, where there ARE loopbacks eg deep house, the filter is working, thanks. Another thing I am struggling with is key commands eg 'cmd U' should set the cycle range to a highlighted clip. This is not happening.

Never mind, I found that the key commands were set to Pro Tools.

So did you try reindexing the loops?

Yes, and filtering is now working. What changed is that where I had a full list of loops under "all genre's" , I now have none. Also, clicking on certain packs like "electro house" is populating the window and the filter works, but other packs like "modern R&B" are blank. I did download all available sounds so not sure why some packs appear empty.

That's odd. Did you tinker with your install at all? Did you ever mess with cache or receipt files?

No. But I just reindexed a third time and now it all seems to be back, with filtering working. Thanks again for your help.
Much appreciated.
