Tyler Grow
When I split the track at the playhead and pull back the track, it does this? What setting have I enabled that does this and how can I turn it off? Thanks!
Atlas007
Does that do that all the time, or is it an occasional glitch?
David Nahmani
It certainly does look odd. Do you have any superimposed regions on that track? To check, click the track header, which should select all regions on the track, and choose Track > Other > New Tracks for Overlapped Regions. Atlas007
I didn't know that audio regions could overlap (or be superimposed) on a same track?
fuzzfilth
They can. Since Logic 2.0. However, a later Region cuts off an earlier one. There even is a Drag Mode dedicated to Overlap.
David Nahmani
I didn't know that audio regions could overlap (or be superimposed) on a same track? Yes, and if you have good eyes, then you can tell overlapping regions from the shape of the upper right corner of the region on the left. That corner is rounded only where the region on the left ends (non overlapping regions):
Atlas007
Ah cool! Thanx for the precision! I wonder about the usefulness of overlapping audio regions, if the two overlapping region's parts could not blend to playback along together on the same track? David Nahmani
Imagine having to slide à region over another one and adjust its position back and forth for timing without ever getting a gap in between the two regions.
Atlas007
That make sense! I confess not working often with audio in my projects... Thanx for the example!
