omes
Hi there, I am trying to notate a trumpet fall-off (notated as a squiggly decending line) in a big band arrangement (I am doing. see attached image) I searched the forums and saw that a few years ago people had similar issues and were hoping that the people at Logic would add this symbol to the part-box. (viewtopic.php?t=107675). I'm assuming that hasn't happened yet. Anyone know how they can make this happen? its a pretty useful symbol to have. Has anyone uncovered a decent work-around to add this symbol to their charts? In the above thread there was someone who said they 'created a font' to add this symbol. How would one go about that? or is there an even better way? Thanks, apologies if this has been covered again somewhere. If it has, I haven't managed to find it. cleamon
Not that this directly helps that much, but I have a VI that implements this articulation. Actually I have 2. 1 uses a key-switch to trigger the "fall", the other velocity (velocity over a set value causes the "fall"). check out this one: http://www.bigfishaudio.com/MOJO-Horn-Section
omes
thanks, i'll look into that eventually. Thats for another project further down the track. My main concern now is trying to find a way of notating it visually on the score editor.
I.M. Groot
I once had a similar issue in Notion, and I ended up actually writing out all the notes of the fall. Laborious, but it worked. I'm sure there's a better solution, but that's how I did it.
