Bow Rekk
Hi. I've been using logic pro 7.2 on my macbook pro for a few weeks now but when I tried to open some old stuff I did in 5.5.1 in windows a while ago all the instruments and effects had gone. (Well, they were there but as soon as I changed the audio driver from asio to core audio they went.) Does anyone know any way of getting them back? David Nahmani
How did you change the driver? You should go to Audio > Audio Hardware and Drivers, select the correct driver, and click "Try (Re)Launch", is that what you did? Try this: open Audio > Audio Configuration, choose the ASIO device, copy it, choose the Core Audio device, paste it?
Bow Rekk
That was really quick! The first one doesn't change anything and the second one I get an error saying 'No audio configuration found for core audio' when I try to paste.
David Nahmani
What audio interface are you using? When you paste the device settings, do you have a core audio interface selected in the driver page?
Bow Rekk
Yeah, all there is is the core audio driver. I'm using the inbuilt audio right at the moment but I tend to switch between that and an Echo Audiofire 4 depending on where I am. I am right, asio is a windows only thing? There is no chance of somehow switching to asio just for these few files?
David Nahmani
ASIO is not windows only, but it's not available in Mac OS X. Well I would mess around with those settings for a while but if nothing works it might be faster to just reinstantiate all the instruments and their settings. bryla
To open projects in 7.2 intel, shouldn't they be saved on 7.2 ??
David Nahmani
To open projects in 7.2 intel, shouldn't they be saved on 7.2 ?? No. As far as I know (I haven't tried every single possible combination), it's always possible to open older files in newer versions of Logic. bryla
I just recall reading somewhere on Apple.com that for projects to open on Intel they should be saved in at least 7.2.0 intel og PPC....
David Nahmani
No, it works fine. You're probably thinking of opening a file that was saved on an Intel machine in an older version of Logic. Files are always upward compatible, not always backward compatible. For example, the switch to Intel broke backward compatibility.
