joelvanz
I am trying to recreate a similar string sound that you hear in the first 25 seconds of this song: Is there a virtual instrument in Logic X that can do something similar? If not, does anyone know how this sound is created? Cheers, Joel
des99
Nice track. Edit: love it, in fact. Which sound do you mean in the intro - the guitar chords, or the high, droney sustainey sound? (I think they are both guitar parts actually...) Edit: In the live version on YouTube, that high droney sound is also a guitar part... anp27
Is there a virtual instrument in Logic X that can do something similar? If not, does anyone know how this sound is created? Those are synthesized strings, totally doable in Logic with the stock strings. Go through the synth string presets and find one that is close. You might need to play with the ADSR settings though. Tgreer
I personally don't think of that part as strings at all. It sounds FM to me... or maybe program something in Sculpture leaning towards the "Glass" corner. As anp27 mentioned, you need to go to the ADSR. It's a very slow attack and release. And soak it with a long reverb tail.
Tgreer
Just tried it. Sculpture is perfect for this sound.
