Overlaps & stacked audio?

I think I like to work with overlaps set to on.

However, when I have a small area, with say 3 audio tracks stacked and overlapping, how to I select the top one and tell it to "go to the back of the pile"?.. or to the top?

This is so it gets playback priority... i think. I sometimes have a new file covering the other 2 comletely and it seems the only way to bring an older take to the top is to actually move the latest take to another track first????

In Cubase you right click and it gives choices as to send files to the back to front.

I have also read here that some people get Logic playing audio from underneath the top most audio region? Is this true? A bug? A feature? How to aviod this when working with overlaps.. like I like to? I have not gotten this playback issue yet.

Thanks

Eric
