draco
Hey Music makin people.. i have modelled this mark 1 fender rhodes (suitcase) sound off my own original 74 model Mark 1 88, i feel this is the most real sounding and most usable sounding rhodes i can get out of logic..( I often use this sound over the real rhodes when i want the playability of a midi keyboard) because my rhodes has a very clunky and heavy action... i have some other favorites ive made if people are interested... ive been hoarding a few.. and i feel its time to share the love... lol ps this channel strip is built using plugins available in the newest version of logic, if you dont have the guitar amp pro plugin it wont work the way i intended... enjoy... peace Mark 1 (Suitcase) .cst.zip Draco Mark 1 fender rhodes sound.... David Nahmani
Hey, thanks a lot for sharing, those are both really nice. I found that one a little on the weak side as far as volume though, so I turned the master volume up in the Guitar Amp Pro so that I can have a solid sound right away. But the tone is there! Thanks again.
Jazzooo
Hmm--I want this! But when I go to download it, I only get an 8KB document that I can't read. Anyone know why? Perhaps the sample isn't available anymore? Thanks, Doug
Ashermusic
Hmm--I want this! But when I go to download it, I only get an 8KB document that I can't read. Anyone know why? Perhaps the sample isn't available anymore? Thanks, Doug It's not a sample, it is a Channel Strip. Put them in your Channel Strips folder which is in your Logic folder that is in the Application support in either your User or Global library. Jazzooo
Man, I hate being so ignorant. But ok, I put it in my Channel Strip folder. Now what? I've never accesses my Channel Strip Library so I'm not sure how to apply it to a Rhodes sample--I'm assuming that's what I should do, yes? David Nahmani
Make sure you placed it in ~/Library/Application Support/Logic/Channel Strip Settings/Instrument/. You can then call it up on any Audio Instrument Channel Strip by clicking on the 'Inserts' label and finding your preset by name.
Jazzooo
Well, it's in the right place, but I don't see it when I click on Insert. I see all the other possible effects. I don't know, maybe I'm just too tired. Maybe it didn't unzip after downloading?
David Nahmani
You shouldn't have to. The file's name should end with the extension '.cst' - does it? Are you sure of the path of the file? From beginnning ( '~/' is your home folder) to end (this particular cst should be in the 'instrument/' folder).
i
Hi. This might be obvious but have looked from the right place? i
David Nahmani
Note that you can click anywhere on the word 'Inserts', not just on that little downward arrow.
bryla
this is a great Channel strip! I did a mockup yesterday of Sergio Mendes' Mas que nada, and the sound of this fits perfectly as the rhodes of the choruses of the song. Hope you guys know the song, and what I'm talking about

biff_larken
Space Designer is required, isn't it? Sorry, can't say for sure since I haven't downloaded the channel strip, but 'Space DSN" seems like this would be it.
inuit
just done a search and space designer is not included in logic express can anyone recommend an alternative setting using the express audio units ?

Eriksimon
OK, here you go. I used the AUMatrixReverb to substitute SD. Since the amount of reverb is very small, it wasn't to hard to come close enough to the original channel strip imho. guitarguy4034
Sorry if this is really noobish to ask but I have absolutely no idea how to use this instrument. I put the Mark 1 (suitcase).cst in the Instruments folder, under Channel Strip settings.. Now what do I do? When I go into Logic, do I make an audio or software track and how do I access the Rhodes? Thanks
