Movie doesn't move to correct place

Hey guys, I started work on a piece of music for a teaser video and had it all dialed in (tempo, time sig, etc). However, I just got the video and I can't get it to start at the exact same location as the start of my piece of music. I've tried to move the movie based on the playhead location and moving it manually but it's always either a little bit ahead or behind. There must be a way to have a movie start wherever you need it, can anyone help with this? Thanks in advanced.

You can spot the movie in project settings> synchronization, to the exact timecode

The synchronization settings allow you to adjust the bar ruler in relationship with the SMPTE ruler. You can set the movie position under File > Project Settings > Movie.

Thank guys for your help! I was able to do it by tweaking the SMPTE position in project settings> synchronization. This solution was way overdue for me.

Actually David, my celebration was unfortunately premature, it's way better then it was before but still a tiny bit off. Is there something else I'm perhaps missing? Is it possible to get it exact always?

milk_meat, go where david pointed, there you can adjust movie.

if you want your movie to be set on the beginning of the project by default, you can add it to your project via "File > Movie > Open movie" next time. (or you can remove it and re-add it)

Thanks Ploki, I actually don't want the movie at the beginning of the project but it seems like the picture I attached previously is the closest I can get. Does that seem normal? or should I be able to get it to start exactly as my pre-existing audio.

You can control click in the global movie track and get a number of menu choices on how to move your movie. - to playhead location might do the trick.

Thanks Doug, unfortunately that was one of the first things I tried out and it didn't do the trick. I got it close but not enough. Going to File > Project Settings > Movie and adjusting settings there got me the closest.

That's interesting. I use it a lot and have never had a problem with it. Makes me wonder if it's a corrupt project.... Regardless, if it works for you now that's all that's needed!
