portblueten
Hi forum . I'm looking for some near field monitors suited for producing orchestral music / acoustic works. I'd like them to be strongest in this area. My budget is £500 Thanks
Solution triplets Posted July 12, 2017 Solution Share Posted July 12, 2017 I like the 5-inch Yamahas HM5. Speakers you have to try them out at a store if you can. Everybody has a different taste for speakers.
Wolfie2112
Triplets gives excellent advice, you need to go to a shop and listen to a ton of them. I've been using KRK Rokit 5's for years (lots of orchestral mixing) and learned them inside out. They are first generation, but I heard the newer versions aren't too bad and they're reasonable. Yamaha's are really good, and I'm looking at upgrading to a pair of these... https://www.focal.com/en/pro-audio/monitoring-speakers/alpha/monitoring-speakers/alpha-50 I find them very true to orchestral music. But again, you need to try a bunch.
