kerochan
Hi Working on a Logic project, doing vocals, no plug ins, about 40 tracks, suddenly on playback the whole system froze. I have had to turn off the computer and restart, why should this happen? , looks terribly unprofessional for clients. Many thanks for any help. fusbur
All I can say is, it's a computer - it happens unfortunately. I've been in high end studios before now and they sometimes crashed. (I've also recorded in tape based studios in the eighties when the tape broke. No auto backup there! ). Put the kettle on, restart.
Garfy
I guess you should be glad it didn’t freeze part-way through recording the perfect vocal take If it only happens the once, you just have to shrug it off and get on with it. If it happens multiple times, then you might have a problem. Tape breaks, faders dies, guitar amps blow tubes (occasionally). It’s just what happens I guess. kerochan
Thanks Garfy, fist time its ever happened. Cheers for the reassurance! Kettle is on.
Garfy
looks terribly unprofessional for clients. TBH, as Fusbar suggests, putting the kettle on is generally the best thing to do in a situation like this. Most people that have a computer know that they’re prone to the odd lock-up here and there. So, the clients will see your professionalism in how you react to the issue.
