SuneRoseWagner
Whenever I delete tracks in the Main Window they still appear in the Mixer Window when I select "All". How do I completely delete tracks from the Main Window do they're gone from my project? Thanks Logic Pro X 10.4.3 MacBook Pro
wolfgerb
Hi, It´s a preference setting in the project-preferences. In the project-preferences got to the "Audio" tab, then click on "channel-strips". if the automatic... checkbox is clicked, tracks deleted in the arrangewindow will also be deleted in the mixer. SuneRoseWagner
I have "Automatic management of channel strips" turned on but the deleted track still shows up in the mixer window when I hit the "All" button...??
wolfgerb
Hhmm, not the case over here. Did you try in a new project?
SuneRoseWagner
Yes, every time I start a new project the tracks are simply not being deleted...??
SuneRoseWagner
Anyone has a solution to this??
volovicg
Try this.... Press cmd+0 upper left hand corner - select the Layer called Midi Instr. select any objects you have in there and press delete. Close that window Channel strips should now be gone in the mixer
SuneRoseWagner
Well, that's all fine but I don't wanna go to the mixer window ever time I delete a track in the main window...I just wanna be able to delete the track in the main window and then it'll be gone from my session and not hidden in the mixer window. I used to be able to do this but not anymore??
David Nahmani
Well, that's all fine but I don't wanna go to the mixer window ever time I delete a track in the main window...I just wanna be able to delete the track in the main window and then it'll be gone from my session and not hidden in the mixer window. I used to be able to do this but not anymore?? It works as expected here, deleting the channel strips in the Mixer when I delete the tracks in the Tracks area. I would attempt to close Logic, trash the Logic preferences, restart the Mac and reopen Logic.
volovicg
I am assuming - given the issue described and with ACSM turned on that it is an external instrument track. SRW, What kind of track is it that won't delete in the mixer?
SuneRoseWagner
It's both audio and instrument tracks...
David Nahmani
Can you try it again but in a new empty project, creating then deleting a few tracks?
SuneRoseWagner
I did it's the same thing unfortunately...
David Nahmani
Try creating a new user account on your Mac, and see if the behavior is the same?
volovicg
Also (if the above doesn't solve it) can you zip/compress and upload your project so we can test it. Are you using 10.3.2 as your signature indicates?
SuneRoseWagner
Just to recap, when I hit Command+Delete on a track in the Main Tracks window it seems to be deleted. When I go to the Mixer window and press All, the track shows up and when I try to delete it from the Mixer window this pops up :
volovicg
You must have other tracks (hidden or otherwise ) assigned to that channel strip.
Eriksimon
...and that would also explain why those strips stay in the mixer...
SuneRoseWagner
I don't...I can make 20 new audio tracks and/or instrument tracks, delete them all in the Main Window, they will still all show up in the Mixer Window when I press the "All" button next to "Single" and "Tracks"
volovicg
Can you upload your project please....
SuneRoseWagner
Here you go, here's an example of a project where I can't delete the tracks : SUNE TEST DELETE.zip

volovicg
There is something going on. I was able to reproduce the issue several times and now it is working fine. I am running 10.4.3 However you have a hidden track - click on the orange H to unhide the track and delete that those regions. Then see if the other channel strips delete when you cmd+del a track. SuneRoseWagner
That hidden track is my MPC groove templates, I've always had them...Never had an issue deleting tracks before, it just started out of the blue...? I'm running 10.4.3 as well.
volovicg
Understood - but just delete them (as a test) and see if the tracks delete normally thereafter.
SuneRoseWagner
I deleted the hidden track that has the MPC groove templates and now it all works again. Why is that?? Corrupted groove templates all of a sudden??
Eriksimon
That project was corrupted somehow: it was also impossible to delete the stereo out arrange track, it kept saying that the track was protected (which it was not).
strumzilla
Try this....Press cmd+0 upper left hand corner - select the Layer called Midi Instr. select any objects you have in there and press delete. Close that window Channel strips should now be gone in the mixer This solved the problem for me, I had a bunch of vestigial midi tracks cluttering up my mixer window when I viewed "all". Thanks!! SuneRoseWagner
I assume you're referring to the environment window correct? When I choose the layer called MIDI instr nothing comes up? It's still not working??
