brianaustin
This is the first mix of Brightest Star; also my first attempt at a mix with real drums. Please listen with your expert ears. I really thank you for your advice. http://www.brianaustinny.com/music/Brightest_Star_m1.mp3
dkgross
nice! I'd pull the lead vox back a bit (probably with a tad more compression). I think adding some overall room ambience to the entire drum mix would help set it back abit, AND allow it to be a tad louder. Pull a little 400-500 or so out of the snare, and spread the pans on the toms out a tad (the additional verb on the toms willl help). I'd pan the tremolo gtr a little more left, and down a bit..the acoustic gtr on the right can come up a bit as well (or double it on the left more). any more background vocals/harmonies coming? The arranger in me is goin' nuts..hahahah.
brianaustin
Thanks!! Thats exactly the type of advice I was looking for. I'll try those out. And more background vocals are coming. There having this huge festival on my street in nyc, Feast of San Gennaro, that's keeping me from recording vocals for the next week or so.
