Phelix
Hi, I have a problem. I have tried either with a USB mic and an external Steinberg interface. I actually never had this problem before, so I'm quite confused. I wanted to record the vocals on a track I have created. I have opened a new project, imported the MP3 of the instrumental and added an audio track to record the vocals. What happens is that the vocals are not in sync with the instrumental track once I play it back. The vocals start few milliseconds BEFORE the instrumental track. I have tried changing the buffer 128 etc... but nothing changed. I have also tried recording just the vocals and the metronome, counting on top of it.. As you can hear the voice starts a little earlier... I'm lost... Here is the test.. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qukmyhkhyajo7xj/test.mp3?dl=0 Rick
triplets
Did you mess with the Recording Delay slider in Logic preferences? Default is 0 samples.
Phelix
Hi, nope I haven't. This happens also if I open a new project with no tracks, just voice and metronome.. (as in the example attached)
triplets
Are you on a laptop or iMac? What happens if you use the built-in mic?
Phelix
I have a new generation macbook pro. I have tried with the internal mic. Same thing. I believe the latency problem is in what I get in my headphones... idk
triplets
Ok, have you tried not plugging in your headphones and record with the built-in mic with the speakers muted? Are they bluetooth headphones?
Phelix
yes but how can I test it this way if I can't hear the metronome...? No, studio headphones...
triplets
You can create a visual metronome with a midi region. Paint a couple of downbeats with an EXS24 simple drum set. Make sure you see the meter of that track when you record. Also, OSX creates a new interface when you plug headphones in. You can see that in Applications/Utilites/Audio Midi Setup:
Phelix
Ok, I have tried with speakers off, no headphones plugged. Same problem... It's crazy... (I ahve attached a screenshot, hope you see it)

triplets
Two things I would do next: First, laptop restart if you didn't already. Second, trash Logic preferences.

triplets
Quit Logic Go to Finder Hold down Option, click on Go in top menu. You will see the Library. Click on it. Find the Preferences folder. Look for com.apple.logic10.plist Trash the file Restart Logic.
