Partario
Hello, I am experiencing noise when ramping which Logic. The noises from my laptop are bleeding in to the output from the Apogee Quartet. Scrolling and minimizing windows adds additional noise. Signal Chain - Passive Guitar > Radial JDI (or guitar input on Quartet) > Quartet > Logic (No noise yet, DI sounds as it should) - DI is routed to Output 5 on Quartet > TRS to XLR > Radial JCR Passive Reamp > Guitar Amp (Noise can now be heard through guitar amp before being mic'd and recorded) - SM57 > Back into Logic I have tried - All combinations of ground lifts on the Radial boxes - Running MacBook from battery - Ground lift on apogee power supply - Turning off computer monitor - Recording DIs away from the computer - Different amps and guitars - -10db and +4db out of the interface - Pulling my beard hairs out I searched every forum online related to this issue. Some people having the exact same problems (computer hardware noise being reamped), with no solutions or updates posted. My house has all new electric and was inspected. Any help or ideas for me to try would be greatly appreciated! Thanks LPH - Patrick
triplets
What was the input level on the DI guitar? How hot was it?
Partario
What was the input level on the DI guitar? How hot was it? Pretty hot, but definitely not clipping.
robinloops
Are you using a power conditioner of some sort?
triplets
Pretty hot, but definitely not clipping. Well, what is not clipping? Close to zero? In any case, hot digital inputs don't translate well into the analog world. Try to shoot between -15 and -12 dBFS when recording.
Partario
Are you using a power conditioner of some sort? Yes, a Fuhrman on both the computer and amp.
