ghreg
Hi Logic Users Group - I have some old Logic 5.x projects that I need to open in Logic 10.5. Alas I used to be able to do this in previous versions of Logic 10.x, but the functionality appears to be broken. When attempting to bring the project in none of the audio files are loaded though it does seem to load the arrangement...I went ahead and tediously added the audio files one by one ( why is there no batch 'locate'?) I then saved the project and it seemed to save the project as a 10.5 folder project. Then when either attempting to load the project it gives the following error message: The file couldn't be opened because it isn't in the correct format Anybody know of a workaround? des99
It’s generally best to convert the projects with LP7 first. Very few old projects load correctly in modern versions of Logic, you usually get the message to convert them in LP7 first...
ghreg
Hmm....I don't think I have a machine old enough to run logic 7 and I suspect my logic 7 monster box with 8 CDs is in the dustbin of history. Is this there where someone appears magically with a pre-fab OS X 10.8.5 virtualbox image with Logic 7 running inside? * sprinkles magic fairy dust on the computer *
des99
Yes, I have LP7 (and others) running in a VM, it works fine...
musos
Yes, I have LP7 (and others) running in a VM, it works fine... Just curious...which VM are you using? I once tried VMWare to get SoundDiver running but it wouldn't pass MIDI data through.

musos
Thanks. Does MIDI work in Parallels? Also, were you running MacOS in Parallels? Which OS?
