separate cymbal tracks in Logic Producer Kits

I program full MIDI drum tracks with separate cymbals, ride, and bell. When using the Producer Kits, only overhead tracks are available for the cymbals. Is there a known workaround to generate separate tracks for the cymbals?

I’ve tried separating MIDI by note pitch, but doing it that way, on the other hand, does not generate overheads.

You would have to swap the Drum Kit Designer instrument for Sampler, then you can reprogram the instrument to route each cymbal to its own output.

In the DKD gui, select the kit pieces one by one (except cymbals of course) and set the "Overhead" switch to off. Now only cymbals outputs on the overhead channel strip.

EDIT Reading your post again I understand you want one channel for ride, one for crash etc. Then Davids answer is the way to go...

Yes, everything you see in DKD is generated by Sampler under the hood.
