TROUBLE WITH THE TRAINING BOOK/LESSONS

Hello - I purchased the Logic Pro x 10.4 book and downloaded the materials. I am finding this very helpful indeed, but have run into a roadblock,

 

I downloaded the Lessons and Media files to my desktop. Lesson 1 and associated media file went fine. But now I am having this problem starting with Lesson 2.

 

For example, I am now attempting to add wave.aif to my lesson project Get Dancing 03 as per pages 134 and 135 of the book.

 

But when I try to drag the that file to the workspace I get this error message:

 

"You can't save the file "wave.aif" because the volume "Logic Pro 10.4 is read only. Try saving the file to another volume"

 

So, it won't let me add any new tracks.... the same thing happened in Lesson 2,,,

 

I don't know what this means or how to correct/fix the problem. What should I do??

Did you copy the actual Logic lesson project to the desktop?

Or did you just click to open it?

I downloaded the software to my desktop and then clicked on the dmg which I thought is all I need to do. Is there another step?

Does the book say to run it from the downloaded DMG? That seems unlikely to me...

 

Check the instructions, and see whether it says to unpack or copy the downloaded files to your computer, and if so, follow those instructions...
