Zay1230
Hello, I’m having trouble getting the sound that I want when recording vocals. I’m using a Shure SM27 hooked up to a PreSonus Audiobox audio interface (idk if that matters) I’ve figure out how to get sufficient volume out of the mic but for some reason no matter what plugins I use it always sounds like I’m muffled or talking through a tube. I’m trying to save some general plugins so I can just put them on every vocal track. Any suggestions?
triplets
I don't know what you're doing with the mic, but that Shure SM27 normally sounds like this when talking:
facej
sounds more like you're using the wrong side of a cardioid pattern microphone. Make sure you have phantom power turned on, and that you are speaking/singing into the side of the microphone that says "Shure". Oh, yeah, make sure you have the 15 dB pad dis-engaged
Zay1230
I’ve done all of that and it’s still the same, I’m thinking its coming from not having the proper plugins.

No, you should get a decent clear sound without any plug-ins at all. Can you share a sample of the recording so that we could hear what you're talking about?
