George Bellas
To auto hide the Dock and Menu Bar when Logic starts up, follow these steps: 1. Locate the Info.plist file found within the application's package contents folder. 2. Open the Info.plist file in TextEdit. 3. Locate the text: CFBundleVersion within the Info.plist file (near the bottom). 4. Add this code below step 3's text: LSUIPresentationMode 3 NOTE: You will not be able to mouse over the Menu Bar or Dock to activate them. If you want the ability to mouse over the Menu Bar and Dock to activate them, replace the integer value with 4 instead of 3. Enjoy the extra work space. David Nahmani
Cool! Thanks a lot for that advanced tip. Now why does your name sound familiar?
weisse senatoren
being not a native speaker I obviously have got some difficulties to get the following part of your intruction right: " Add this code below step 3's text" what does this mean exactly? Just inserting this new code after CFBundleVersion doesn't work for me. logic just won't launch. thanks for advice. sina
rob glow
Hi Sina, You actually need to add it after the tag, which is just after that line. So effectively, move it an extra line further down. It's much easier if you use PropertyList Editor, but I don't know how many people have that (I do!) Oh, btw the way, George. Thanks very much! This is excellent. I set it to 4 and love it

Where can I locate the application's package contents folder?
rob glow
The application's 'Package Contents' folder *is* the application! 8) Ctrl/Right-click on Logic Pro.app and select 'Show Package Contents'. medusaproductions
anybody relating this to an inability to load recent .logic files. Opening works fine but, not recent projects. Seemed to start right after i did this config? Not saying it might not be something else though. weird.
macourteau
When I set the setting to '4' (to hide the dock & menu, but still have access to them), Logic (I have 8.0.2) won't use the space freed by the dock. It uses the space freed by the menu though. Has this happened to anyone else? Anybody knows how to fix this? I could really use the space
route-electrique
Pretty nice . Worked like charm, it was my first time to look "package contents" and edit plist thing . Though, when i launch Logic, it dosent open Fullscreen, then when i hit my "screenset" -set key, then i goes fullscreen, but this is just minor thing. Morphido
Recovering this thread... Do you know if it's possible hide the dock only when using Logic as in version 7 (or 8?). I think it's a cool detail of confort. One thing more for the wish list Cheers!
Timmy Schumacher
This tip is AHZOME! Looks like route-electrique is having the same issue as me - my screensets didnt seem to lock to the new screen space once I had resized them, locked them and saved my template. I found out how to solve this problem - all I had to do was open Logic, the open a finder window or browser OVER the top of logic, then ditch that window, then screensets worked sweet to the new size

lasteno
noup, my mistake, I'm tryting to find "LSUIPresentationMode" in Logic Pro X, to change some settings to see the menubar always, to keep it out from hiding, when going to Full screen mode,
