SALC
Hi all, I had to upgrade to Catalina and my Alesis Strike Pro V1.5 stopped sending midi to Logic Pro 10.6.3 (only). It sends to all other stand alone midi programs. Any ideas? Thanks Sal Angel Studio
David Nahmani
Make sure it's not recognized as a control surface in Logic: choose Logic Pro > Control Surfaces > Bypass All Control Surfaces. Is the Strike Pro triggering notes in Logic now?
SALC
I do not see it in the control surface list. How do you bypass all control surfaces? Thanks for the quick reply!! Sal
David Nahmani
I do not see it in the control surface list. How do you bypass all control surfaces? In the menu at the top of the Mac's screen, choose Logic Pro > Control Surfaces > Bypass All Control Surfaces:
SALC
That did it !!!! Thanks so much. Any idea why Logic created the Alesis control surface on it's own?

I'm not sure why it was recognized as a control surface when apparently it shouldn't have been. Good to hear that did it. Now you should see the device when you choose Logic Pro > Control Surfaces > Setup, and you can delete it there, so that you don't have to keep bypassing the control surfaces. SALC
Thanks again. One more thing there is quite a latency issue while recording midi. via USB, with A.Strike, even with the "LOW LATENCY" button engaged. Any thoughts? No plugins at all. If you start a new empty project, do you get that latency as well?
SALC
Same result. It's sounds like a flange. What's funny it does not do this in a standalone app, like NI Drummer.
David Nahmani
Try triggering a software instrument (such as Drum Kit Designer) in Logic, do you get flange or latency? How is the Strike connected to your Mac exactly?
SALC
Latency does not occur using my Novation Luanchkey. (weird) Alesis Strike is connected via usb. My next step, is to attach my Roland Midi hand drum, to see if I get a delay on that. Thanks again for hangin in there.

You're welcome. Did you try to trigger DKD in Logic? With the Strike?
SALC
Yes that's what I'm using. DKD in LPX. I should mention that I'm using a powered USB cable, because the kit is 30 feet away. Just the way it has to be, because of my studio setup.

Also is that all, just one powered USB between the Strike Pro and the Mac? What manufacturer/model is it? No other connection? Where are your headphones plugged-in?
