If I have to choose a hard drive....

I'm setting up a new computer.  Old Mac Pro 5,1 updated to Big Sur with Logic

Main drive is SSD.   Second drive is SSD.  Third drive is SATA.

So I have - Sample Libraries, Logic Sessions, and Audio.  I've traditionally kept Sessions and Audio in different folders but now might use the "folder" save option to have them all together.

With that in mind, should I put the Libraries on the SSD and the Sessions/Audio on SATA - or the other way around?

Ideally you would get SSDs for both. But if that's not an option then I would probably put the projects and audio files on the SSDs and the sample library on the HDD.

In the end, the results you'll get depend on your use of audio vs sample libraries. For example if you use only a couple of audio tracks but a LOT of software instrument tracks that make use of the sample libraries then the other way around may work better for you. So the best would be to experiment.
