Trying to reverse a cymbal hit - Command not available because there are no audio regions selected

I'm trying to reverse a cymbal hit but it's not working. 

Here's exactly what I am doing:

I open a new software instrument track

I change it from piano to drum kit - Socal

I use musical typing to make a cymbal hit

I press the editors button and select the cymbal hit

I go 'functions' but there is no reverse option

I do the shortcut command shift r

I get a Command not available because there are no audio regions selected message

 

What can I do to reverse the cymbal hit?

Bounce the region in place, then reverse the resulting audio region.

Right: You can't reverse an instrument's hit because it's not available as a piece of audio.

You can bounce, or find the original cymbal file and dupe that into the track. There are a couple of single cyms in the apple loops you can drag in, too.
