sparrow2
I enjoy creating instrumental music typically with strings and piano, but sometimes hit a "ceiling" when wanting to add percussion for intensity, drive, or expression. The sound I generally produce is more melodic and mellow, and it doesn't fit well with a traditional full drum set (though I do want to add percussion that's "non-drumset"). One example of this that I really enjoy is the Particle Engine percussive piano that comes with Komplete 13's "Noire" Piano (example video, not me). It adds percussive delay hits for piano strings hit with brushes, mallets, plucked, etc. and I really enjoy working with it. Is anybody aware of other Virtual Instruments that add rhythm and percussion without bringing in bass drum, snare, toms, high hats, cymbals? Other examples of this include: - Thom Yorke & Bjork's "I've Seen It All" where they have the sound of a train going over train tracks that is a percussion and rhythm part in the song. - Using staccato strings to add rhythm TIA, Sparrow
Alan Shields
If you already have Komplete 13 have you looked at AntiDrum Machine or Kinetic Metal?
sparrow2
@Alan Shields I had not seen these, thanks for the post. I'm downloading Kinetic Metal to my library now. Thanks!
