Trogon
Another teacher and I run a High School Music Tech studio that was updated for the current school year. We have sixteen brand new M1 iMacs running the latest versions of Monterey and Logic Pro. We downloaded the entire sound library to the administrator account on each machine. The issue is that each new student (new user) on the machine has to download the entire sound library again which can take hours. Is there a way to download it once so that each subsequent user can access the sound library without downloading it again. This also occurred with our previous studio with Intel iMacs. Any help is greatly appreciated. Jonathan MacOS 12.5.1, Logic Pro 10.7.
des99
Just now, Trogon said: The issue is that each new student (new user) on the machine has to download the entire sound library again which can take hours. Hmm... the factory sound library should be installed to the system locations, not the user locations, so they *should* be able to be seen and used by all user accounts on that machine. Let me check the behaviour here and get back to you shortly...

Is the student account a "standard" account?

I just tried it here by logging into a temporary Guest account, and running Logic (which has the full library installed locally, which was created under a different user account). It has full access to the sound library, it doesn't prompt to redownload it, confirming my understanding of how the content is organised. So it *should* work in theory. Is the content downloaded to the factory location, or have your *relocated* it to a different location (which could be an issue for technical reasons.) Trogon
I checked one student's machine. He has a standard account. The files are downloaded to their default location. I'll investigate this more tomorrow. Jonathan

So just to make sure: each admin has downloaded his own set of files on his own machine?
