onerez
Hello, its me….. Sorry for all the questions. I have a bonus and I am tired of my MacBook Air pegging on memory. Also its only 256 internal Drive. Looking at MacBook Pro 16gb memory and a 1 TB drive. Am I ok to keep my samples and projects on the main drive. I would have about 350GB used for that. Do you all think that is OK. I do have an an external SSD, but would be nice to have it all local in case I want to be mobile. Thanks!! Zipfunk
If you can keep it all on your internal drive that’s great. But when you run out of room you can keep samples on an external drive. I have both and the external drive runs great. No buffer issues.
guitboyus
I moved all my samples and third party stuff to external ssd some time ago. It is allot easier to upgrade and keep track of.

The general rule of thumb is to keep about 20% of the capacity of the drive free, I do recommend shooting for even more free space when possible, but if you have like 300 GB free space on your drive then you're completely in the green.
