TRUN
When I select tracks with my mouse in the arrange window, the Ab note from my midi controller sounds through my monitors, and randomly throughout my songwriting process.
wonshu
Did you try to switch your MIDI controller off and on? Does it always happen in every project (even an empty one?) even after a restart of the system?
TRUN
Yes.. still happens after restart and a new empty project.
volovicg
If you feel the Ab note ends up being a nice #11 or b13 in your composition and adds the proper degree of tension to the chord progression ( shhhhhhh - we won't say anything 🙂 ) Sounds like you midi controller is erroneously sending a "note on" or something else is transmitting a note one. Try going to logic pro -> control surfaces -> bypass all control surfaces (enable this) and see if the issue continues - if so it is likely your controller. TRUN
Note; this is only happening with Logic Pro. When I use Cubase, Studio One, or Pro Tools, it does not occur. Go figure......(smile)

Then chances are @volovicg is correct and it's a faulty control surface assignment. Have you tried bypassing the control surfaces?
