KillianJ
As the title reads, the 808 is clipping in the bounced version but not at all when played in the actual project. What could be the issue and how could we resolve it?
KillianJ
Just tested bouncing it as an MP3 and it didn't clip. If that could be a clue as to why it's not functioning properly. It obviously doesn't resolve the issue because the final product can't be an MP3. Might be worth mentioning that we tried restarting the computer, the program‚ bounced out the tracks with automation on them to delete the automation in the project and obviously it's levelled correctly, so it's not peaking on the master. It hits 0 on the 808 track but that shouldnt be an issue because it's peaking at -3.3 on the master.
triplets
Is Normalizing on or off on your bounce? Are you bouncing PCM when it clips?

Normalizing is off and yes it only happens when I'm bouncing PCM
triplets
What's your last limiter output setting, 0dB or -0.3dB for example?

triplets
Low end always wins in clipping, so maybe go -0.5?

KillianJ
Now it peaks at -6,1 dBFS but the bounce is still clipping.
Solution KillianJ Posted January 29, 2023 Author Solution Share Posted January 29, 2023 Okay, we just solved it: we had some automation on the master which we did not know was there and somehow messed up the clipping.
