dcarmichael
I've been watching a video on using Logic on the MacBook Pro 14" (https://youtu.be/5NEJYY3Ph6w?t=230) and the creator uses a single keyboard shortcut to unzoom all tracks in one go. Being someone who is rediscovering Logic (coming from Bitwig Studio) I'm curious as to what that shortcut is. Would it be a stock shortcut or something the creator defined? If the former, what would it be?
Jeff Mac
Select all (Cmd-a) and hit Z
dcarmichael
That works well, but it doesn't decrease the horizontal zoom factor (as shown in the video.) Would I have to do that manually?
Solution David Nahmani Posted February 21, 2023 Solution Share Posted February 21, 2023 The solution shared by @Jeff Mac will result in the zoom level needed to show all existing regions, making them fill up the screen. The more tracks and regions you have, the more you'll zoom out. You can also deselect all (click the background) and then press Z. I believe that on your video, the user has a screenset saved as it looks like he's just pressing the "1" key. I often do that myself, set up my favorite zoom level (often using Z) then locking that as screenset 1.
wonshu
There are also 3 different zoom levels you can set and recall using keycommands. However, those are relative, so if you have a really long or really short project it will look different.
SideBMusic
Related to the topic, I used to use a keyboard shortcut to zoom incrementally–horizontally or vertically–the track window. Something like Command-Arrow key. I tried it recently and it did not work (I may have used the wrong shortcut keys and need to try again). Perhaps there is another key command for this than what I wrote here? I would rather avoid having to drag the sliders on the toolbar.
