Владимир Маранц
Hi, Is it possible, for ex., to change position of wah pedal automatically been triggered by audio track? Kind of sidechain principle, I guess... Thanks to all,
scg
Is the wah supposed to be applied to the same audio signal that's doing the modulating? Or do you want to use one signal to modulate a wah that's being applied to another signal? (I'm guessing the latter, based on your mention of sidechaining.) Actually, yeah, another one: modulating bass track with wah using a kick drum signal. Pretty same as "traditional" sidechain, except for compression. Solution scg Posted March 26 Solution Share Posted March 26 I looked around a bit, and the most promising thing I found was using the Fuzz-Wah plugin (under 'Filter' in the plugin list) with sidechaining, envelope depth turned up, and other parameters set as appropriate. You may or may not be able to get the specific effect you're after this way though. As for using an arbitrary wah plugin, like one of the stompboxes, and controlling its amount via a sidechained audio signal, it's not immediately obvious to me if or how that can be done. But, I've often been unsure if something could be done in Logic and later found it could be, so I may just be overlooking something there. Other options might include creating sidechain-triggered filter sweeps with AutoFilter, or with a third-party plugin that allows for this, e.g. ShaperBox. I'll be interested to see what other solutions are proposed...

Although, got an idea: if we can somehow write automation from sidechain (in compressor for example), we can try to copy and use it on any track/parameter. Maybe you have an idea if it is possible-to get automation line, but not by physically changing parameters?

But, I'm not aware of any way to do that.
