Surround Track Recording - more than one set of surround inputs?

Hi, 

 

Bit of a noob question, but whereas I can create a whole ton of stereo audio tracks and record all at once (by settings inputs to 1-2, 3-4, etc), I can only seem to find a single surround set of inputs in the preferences / settings section. So, is it correct that I cannot create, for example, 5 surround tracks (let's say QUAD tracks in this case), and record 5 different incoming QUAD streams at the same time?

 

The only other way I can see to do this is to (1) create 4 mono tracks, (2) route them to a surround bus with appropriate LR LsRs panning, and (3) create a surround audio track whose input is not set to "surround", but rather to the bus to which the 4 mono tracks are routed. This can work, but it creates five tracks per audio stream (4 mono and one surround).
