DOB_91
Hi there, I have an issue where Logic Pro is very slow when I start working with audio files/tracks. It's fine working with midi, even when I have a lot of midi tracks. However, if I open just one audio track it starts freezing and not working properly at all. I'm on Logic 10.6.3. I updated to 10.7 but it was very buggy so I stepped back. I'm reluctant update my system or logic because I use several third parties plugins that have always caused issues when I update. I tried looking at settings and preferences, and googling, but I haven't been able to find an answer at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much! wonshu
Are your audio files on an external drive that's ExFAT formatted?
DOB_91
Hi Wonshu, Thanks for replying! No, the project and everything is on the local drive
David Nahmani
How big is your drive and how much available space is on the drive? You can click the Apple at the top left of your screen, choose About This Mac, then click the Storage tab.
DOB_91
Hi David, Thanks for you response. It's a 1TB drive, with 324GB available.

Ok good then that's plenty of space available and that's not the issue. Just one more thing that had to be checked.
wonshu
It also happens with a completely fresh logic project that was not created from a template? Did you test with the "internal speaker" as an audio driver? You could temporarily create a new user account on your Mac and test it there if it has the same behaviour... johnnytucats
Yeah…it may not lead to the fix but at the very least you'll have to start with the recommended troubleshooting steps: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT200260
