apricotandpearjam
hi all. sometimes when i run sessions both big and small logic constantly chokes and freezes and won't play even on a super fast M1 chip. i assume it because of one or two plugins that might be using a really high amount of CPU. does anyone know if there is an app or a way of telling quickly what's causing the problem? would be so helpful, kinda like this:
des99
Logic's performance meters will show you the core activity, which can help you identify any cores you're overloading.
apricotandpearjam
that's helpful but its not specific. im just wondering if there is a way to monitor au hosting service or look into what plugins are loaded and using the most CPU via activity monitor. im free styling here but it would just be so useful to quickly identify within a session what's rinsing the CPU. It sounds like you're wanting to see a list of plugins in use in the project, together with how much CPU they are using, and such a thing doesn't exist. AUHostingService is handling all the plugins, but the various plugins don't get itemised in Activity Monitor. You generally need to identify things the old-school way - turn stuff on/off while observing the meters to identify the biggest culprits (although once you've used plugins a while, you tend to get a feel for which ones are generally "heavy" and which are "light" in terms of resources, etc.)
apricotandpearjam
does anyone know if it’s possible to monitor this information and if so could we build an app?
Laurenciniino
Reaper has the option to see which plugin is taking up the most CPU, so it should be possible here too

No, there is no way to automatically monitor crash logs and programmatically always interpret them in a manner which indicates the problem. It's often difficult to extract that information by looking at it manually.
