Gareth Williams79
Hi, does anybody know why when you delete unused audio in a project some times you get a message that says “- used regions(s) to delete from Tracks!” ? and what is “Tracks”, (capital T) in this context? Thanks for your help. Gareth

Gareth Williams79
Thanks. Do you know why is it deleting used regions when you delete unused audio from the computer?
Jordi Torres
Hi Gareth, Are you still running that old version of Logic (10.0.6)? I can't get that exact message to pop up. But anyway, it sounds like you are deleting audio for which you still have regions in the tracks area. By the way, you asked this same question back in 2016 😅: J. David Nahmani
When I see that message here, it means that I'm attempting to delete an audio file that is used (there is at least one region referring to that audio file in my Tracks area). That's what I assume too just by reading it, but I get a different message when I do that here. How do you trigger that specific message? J. David Nahmani
Just now, Jordi Torres said: How do you trigger that specific message? Create a new empty project, record an audio region, save, close, reopen, now from the Project File browser, select the audio file and choose Audio File > Delete File(s), then confirm the following alert by clicking "Delete", then you see that message.
Jordi Torres
I see, that specific message is in a second dialog after this one: I was not clicking "Delete" so never got to it. 🙂 Of course, there must be an associated region in the Tracks area otherwise you don't see it. Gareth Williams79
OMG! I didn't know I asked exactly the same question in 2016! 😳 Yes, I am using the same version but I'm about to upgrade my comptuer and get the new version. That's why I'm getting rid of any unused audio to make it quicker to bring all my files across. If the audio is unused I don't know why there is an associated region in the tracks. Anyway, it's not a big deal. I'll see if I can figure it out!
Solution wonshu Posted June 10, 2023 Solution Share Posted June 10, 2023 Maybe that region sits on a hidden track?
