Remove Silence Crashing

I've got a fresh instal of Logic on a new Mac Studio, and I'm finding that whenever I use the remove silence function (control+x), there's bonus feature in that it's the quickest way to shut down to Logic.  Sometimes it's just "control+x" that crashes the system, other times it's adjusting the threshold in the remove silence dialog box.

Again, it's a fresh download of Logic, on a new computer with the OS 13.4.1.

Has anyone had experience of this situation, and/or how to get out of it?  Additionally, if anyone has a better way of trimming audio files fast, I'll gladly take an alternative.

It crashes immediately if the remove silence preview is not detecting a region. Means if the threshold is higher than any audio in the region.

Thanks for this info.  It makes this feature useable again.  Much appreciated!
