Midi transform equivalent for audio files?

What I'd like to do is cut/trim every audio region on a track to be the same length. I have a track of kicks with different lengths, but want to make them all very short to use as a noise gate signal. Is there a way to do this? The only thing I'm aware of is turning it into a midi track, but it ends up not placing the kicks exactly where they were on the audio track and it's a pain to fix all of the timings.

Select all the regions, start to resize one and then hold down Option-Shift as you continue resizing it.

When I do this it time compresses all of the files, am I doing something wrong? I just want to keep the transients of the kicks while chopping off the rest

Oops you're right then adjust the length of the regions in the Event List while holding down Option-Shift.
